WHO WE ARE

United Campus Ministry of Greater Houston has multiple ways to inform how we serve college and university communities.

  • OUR HISTORY

    United Campus Ministry was founded and exists as a collaborative model across like minded denominations. Houston is home to approximately fourteen college and university communities. UCM has served as an itinerant ministry to seven of those institutions in our history. 

  • MISSION STATEMENT

    United Campus Ministry's mission statement is anchored in our commitment to serve entire campus communities based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our programs aim to care for the entire student and guided by the gospels, such as Matthew 25 which can be reflected in our basic needs pantry.

  • STUDENT MOTTO

    In 2024 our student leaders discerned what it means to build relationships and serve with United Campus Ministry. The student motto was adopted as being Rooted in Christ, Community, and Justice and grounded in three scriptures. 

    Colossians 2:6-7 Galatians 3:28,

WHAT WE BELIEVE & WHAT WE DO

United Campus Ministry of Greater Houston is a progressive Christian campus community. We support and affirm students identity across genders, race, physical abilities and faith expressions. Campus communities are equipped, informed and served based on four pillars of mission. These pillars are holistic nourishment, spiritual embodiment, enabling changemakers, and illuminate justice.




  • HOLISITC NOURISHMENT

    UCMGH recognizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit and is committed to caring for the whole person. We support holistic well-being by addressing food insecurity, providing access to essential basic-needs resources, and helping students build a foundation from which they can thrive academically, personally, and spiritually.

  • SPIRITUAL EMBODIMENT

    UCMGH fosters spiritual formation through meaningful, tangible practices that help students explore and deepen their faith. This includes Bible studies rooted in contextual engagement with sacred texts, compassionate pastoral care, opportunities for interfaith dialogue, and experiences that cultivate understanding of and appreciation for diverse faith traditions.

  • ENABLING CHANGEMAKERS

    UCMGH invests in students as emerging leaders and changemakers, equipping them with the tools and confidence to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. Through practical life-skills training, leadership development workshops, and engaging lectures, we create opportunities that foster personal growth, strengthen leadership capacity, and prepare students to navigate life beyond the classroom.

  • ILLUMINATE JUSTICE

    UCMGH cultivates a deeper awareness of justice issues and creates meaningful opportunities for students to put their values into action. Through hands-on service, education, reflection, and community engagement, students explore the systems and conditions that marginalize and disenfranchise God’s creation while developing the tools to become compassionate advocates for justice and positive change.

Campus Ministry Association

United Campus Ministry is an active member of the Campus Ministry Association of the A.D. Bruce Religion Center.  This organization is comprised of over ten different campus ministry that enable us to work together on inter faith initiatives on campus.  For more information on A.D. resident campus ministry for HOuston Churches

UCM serves as the resident campus ministry for college students of any local PCUSA, UCC, or DOC congregation.  College students in these congregations are invited to all of our events and programs.  To find out how to get your congregation connected to the news click here to be added to the updates.
