Mission & History

  • The mission of United Campus Ministry of Greater Houston is to demonstrate the love of God as expressed through Jesus Christ through programs initiated within the local college and university communities which equip, inform and serve.
  • UCMGH was established in 1968 as an ecumenical partnership between the Presbyterian Church (USA), The Disciples of Christ (Christian Church), and the United Church of Christ. We have served the UT School of Medicine, HCC locations, Texas Southern University and Rice University.

Programs & Purpose

The purpose of the ministry of UCMGH is to offer a deep rooted authentic faith that reflects the truth that each person is a beloved child of God.  UCMGH emphasizes the study of scripture and authentically entering into dialogue with individuals of other faiths with the intention of both learning from those traditions while becoming stronger in our own Christian identity.  UCMGH is a place for YOUR questions that lead to YOUR answers.  We are proud to be a fully open and inclusive ministry.
